The Forming of 3Form

One of the new materials we've been working with here at Bell Plastics is a proprietary ecoresin from 3Form. It's truly one of the most beautiful materials I've seen!

We've been custom- shaping these pieces for a client. The material is a rich amber color with a partial translusence that the camera lens and shop lighting simply can't do justice to. It works easily whether it's being pushed to a 90 degree bend or 'waved', and looks stunning finished!

More impressive than its beauty is that 3Form uses up to 40% recycled materials in their products. They are one of the front leaders in use of recycled materials in plastics, taking the term 'green plastic' from oxymoron to proud statement of the industry today. 3 Form makes ecoresins in literally hundreds of colors. While acrylics will continue to be the more affordable and accessible material in plastics production for some time to come, we hope to see more ecoresins challenging the idea of what it means to be plastic.

Finally, the Bell Plastics Blog is up and running!

September went by too quickly, and suddenly we find ourselves well into October! Already this month we've survived torrential rainstorms (inside the warehouse), the boss being briefly misplaced in Mexico, and the advent of the launch of our big E-Bay Warehouse sale! Not surprisingly, we're a little bit trepidatious as we head into the depths of autumn and the upcoming Holiday season.

So what does Autumn mean for Bell Plastics? Well, primarily it means we get to help our retail business partners prepare their products and packaging for the holidays, but it also means some wonderful and unique opportunities for individual custom work as people start putting into action the plans they've been holding off. Matching a customer's project with the right materials and methods is challenging and fun, and seeing someone's face when we present them with exactly what they were dreaming of? That's custom-made satisfaction!
